yes, and it is sad, but it is necessary. Due to humans populating more and more of nature's space, overpopulation in deer can become a huge problem. Where I grew up, there was an area of homes up on a mountain. There was no hunting allowed in the area due to not being able to tell where houses could possibly be, and not being safe to shoot, in case a house was near-by... Because of this, the deer became over-populated in the area and caused many problems with car accidents/home damage. They were also miserable, as they started growing skin lesions and black infections that slowly ate away at their flesh. Because there are no longer the levels of mountain lion/wild dogs/natural predators, that there once was in the wild, the prey levels have drastically risen, and as predators ourselves, we must take over the responsibilities that the natural predators once had.
