How long will it take for stores to lower the price of Xbox One?

If sales remain healthy and Sony don't drop their prices then there's no reason or need for Microsoft to knock back the price of their console. Their next gen replacements aren't expected yet and there's no news of any new major competitive product.

So the prices will only drop if there's a good reason to do so.

One other way they might fall is if Microsoft do as Sony did with the PS2 and PS3 and release smaller cheaper to build versions of their console. Some of those savings would get passed to consumers.

So for the moment, both Sony and Microsoft are going to make hay whilst the sun shines on both products and I personally wouldn't expect to see much in the way of further price drops until mid to late summer (in the northern hemisphere) when sales naturally slow down as more people are outdoors and no significant price drops until late this year when there's traditionally a sales push for the US Thanksgiving Day and worldwide Christmas festivities.

If you want cheap buy used.

more then likely it won't drop a significant amount until the next holiday season. the 500 GB model goes on sale for around $300 occasionally. if you have a 360 with a 250 GB hard drive or larger, stores like game stop often have huge trade in bonuses towards an xbox one. i've seen some up to $150 trade in bonus.

just keep an eye out for prices.

Microsoft just dropped the price of the XB1 to $299. I wouldn't expect another price drop until next year. But I would expect some new bundles later this year.

It's already dropped to $349, with sales of $299 from time to time. That's down from the launch price of $499.

Its not the stores that do it, its Microsoft & they have reduced the price a couple of times since the initial launch.
