    The rule for an exponent outside another exponent is to multiply them, so the final exponent is -4a/7

    and that has to equal 1 so you'd have x^1 = x, so

    -4a/7 = 1

    -4a = 7

    a = - 7/4

    (x⁻⁴⁄⁷)ª = x¹

    That means that

    -4

    --- a = 1⇒

    7

    .......-7

    a = ----........ANS

    ........4
