PS3 won't recognize external hard drive?

I have a Toshiba external hard drive that I have formatted to FAT32 and created the proper files but I can not find it on my PS3.What I have I done wrong or missed?

    If it's properly formatted, then you'll see it listed under the different menus for pictures, videos and music. If you don't see it, then it maybe wasn't properly formatted. The best tool I've personally found works is Fat32Formatter. It bypasses all Windows limitations and has a better format compatibility.

    Make a 32 GB partition it will work...

    And for game data utility dismantle your external hardisk and make it internal.
