On ebay when I sell an item should I expect the payment when the buyer gets the item?

I sold my first item on ebay, the buyer paid so now the money is pending on my account. Should I expect the payment when the buyer receives the item I shipped?

Not really no. It could take up to two weeks for new sellers to have the money cleared. Rarely does it clear right after item is delivered. Sometimes you never get the money, if a buyer decides to file a claim. LOL ebay is joke these days.

First of all, I strongly suggest taking a look at this link. It's eBay's own help page on some selling basics you could use:

You say your money is "pending" in your account.

If you mean that you have a "pending balance", then that means that the seller's payment has cleared and you can ship the item. But you won't get the money freed up until the item's been delivered or the buyer leaves you a Positive Feedback.

If you mean that the payment itself is "pending" from the seller, then that means that the payment has NOT cleared yet and you should wait to ship it.

To be certain, go to your "my eBay" page and go to your SOLD items. At the far right of the item you should see a big blue dollar sign. If it's there, then the buyer's payment has cleared and you can ship it.

This link may also come in handy. It's a glossary of the icons eBay uses. It also shows the payment icons you need to learn about:

    Hope this helps.

We work as Virtual Assistants for eBay clients and from my experience I can say that you must ship only when you receive the payment. Payments show in order page. Still, you may login to paypal to check if payment has cleared. If you need any advice for how to sell something on ebay, visit my blog http://online-business-virtual-assistant.com/blog and you can read lot of posts focused on eBay business. Happy reading...

I always wait for the buyer to fully purchase the item. If it turns out they changed their mind you have to pay extra shipping, go through a huge eBay refunding process, etc.

You are not supposed to ship anything until the payment has cleared. If the payment was made and it is pending, it has not cleared.

Huh? Paypal will tell you when the payment clears.

No, they should pay and then it should clear before you ship.
