What does 100-240V mean?

My laptop's power adapter has an input of 100-240V. Does this mean I can plug it in a 110 volt socket?

It means that your laptop has a universal power supply, capable of working on any country's power system (110V like the USA or 220v like most of the rest of the world). The only thing you'll need if you go to, lets say Europe, would be an adapter so you can plug it in to the wall! If you're going to travel, you may want to pick up a set of plug adapters from a luggage store.

Yes, or a 220V socket. You can use the power adapter in just about any country as long as you can find an adapter for the plug itself. For example, my cell phone charger works in the U.S. (110V) and Malaysia (220V) with no issues, as it converts the AC to the proper DC voltage. I just needed to buy an adapter so I could plug it into a Malaysian power socket.
