Fixing windows vista/linux?

Question

ok i have a toshiba laptop that runs windows vista ultimate and Ubuntu a version of Linux. on one hard drive. recently i got rid of Linux i formated the hard drive and made it go back to one larger hard drive. well i shut down the pc and when i restarted it it gave me an error " grub loading stage 1.5. ...

ok this is gonna be difficult. Ihave a toshiba laptop and did the same thing at least 5 times this is what I did. I installed mandriva. (when installing do the same as ubuntu, resize windows and install in free space... make it a small install since you are going to delete it soon) That allowed me to acess my vista partition when you first boot the computer. ( it gives you a choice of starting mandriva or vista at boot) Now you can get back into vista. Now when you are in vista you have to download "easy bcd 1.7" google it, its free. This program will allow you with one click to restore your "mbr" or boot option to vista only. After installing easy bcd open the program and select option on left that reads manage bootloader. Here you will see an option to restore vista bootloader. Select that. At last you can boot directly back into vista. However you now will have a linux installsthat you can not acess. Open the start menu, right click computer and select "manage" when that opens you will see all of the linux installs as partitions. You can delete these from there.

On a side note there is a great linux installer that is called "wubi" for ubuntu. It installs from vista and can be deleted from there as well. It does not mess with your partitions and is the best thing since sliced bread.
