Is "liquid sugar" another name for Corn Syrup, or could it be cane sugar?

The ingredients listed on a carton of Ben and Jerry's ice cream included "liquid sugar," and I wondered if they started using corn syrup, or if they are using good old cane sugar.

liquid sugar is called SIMPLE SYRUP...use by bartender to sweeten your drinks..it is made by pourin in a bottle 3/4 of sugar and 1/4 of hot water....mix it well until sugar is disolved.

You can use much smaller amount of sugar but keep it at 75% / 25% sugar water ratio
