I feel that Mario Party 8 and Super Paper Mario are two different games. It definetley depends on if you have more than one remote. Why I say remote and not nunchuck is because when the box says four players and you need a nunchuck, it lies. You only need the nunchuck for one of the extra games that is not a minigame so you can do without a nunchuck. Some other reviews on other sites have been saying that some of the minigames have been repeated from past Mario Party games. This is the first Mario Party I have owned so I wouldn't know. Based on using the wii remote, Mario Party 8 does an OK job. Some games you use horizontal like the NES controller and some use the pointer. I found most of the games fun even if I was using sideways. Obviously, you can't have a party by yourself and if you have more controllers the more people can play. If you don't have friends (not saying that you don't) then Mario Party 8 isn't for you. On the other hand, Super Paper Mario is only intended for one player. Although very fun, Super Paper Mario isn't the game to play with your friends. It uses the remote like a NES controller most of the time, but the pointer is also useful when needed. You follow an actual story unlike Mario Party 8. The story is pretty cool to follow and its organized by chapters. That is something you can't do with Mario Party. In my opinon, they are both great games. If I really had to choose, I would choose Mario Party 8 because of its replay value but it would get boring after round and round so Super Paper Mario is still a very good game. I am sorry to not decide but they are both awesome games. You have two choices. Firstly, you can choose one of the games for 50 dollars or both of them for 100 dollars. Secondly, you can wait until the demand is lower, then you can buy both for 20 dollars making a total of 40 dollars. Both of them are superb games.
