• Is it weird that I stay at a hotel the night before my flight?

Best answer: Depending on how far you live from the airport, it is not weird at all and can be a good idea. Some people just want to be extra cautious and not feel rushed trying to get to the airport to catch their flight.

A couple of engine failures does not constitute a statistical hazard to your air travel plans. You have a 1 in 5000 chance of dying in a car crash every time you get out on the road. In contrast you only have a 1 in 11 million chance of being in an airline accident where at least one fatality occurs. That's 3000 times greater chance yet I don't hear you squawking about highway safety when it should be near the top of your worry list.

  • Does a child Age 3 require original or copy (not certified) of Birth Certificate to fly Allegiant Airlines with parent?

Best answer: A copy is fine, and you very likely won't even need that. I know that Allegiant says that they recommend you have one available, but I've never had them ask for a copy of my kids'.

Some airlines will require birth certificates to prove age for things like flying for free as a lap infant or for flying alone without an adult, neither of which apply to you.

If anyone could break down how the whole process goes for me, that would be so helpful. I've looked up things and even watched videos, but my nerves are not calmed because they don't go into much detail about it. ALSO, It's not international, since I know those flights can go a bit different. Anything would be much appreciated! I'm so scared to miss my flight or do something wrong w checking in or security.

  • Is it safe for two planes to take off at the same time at the same airport?

I was wondering because I was flying out of Guangzhou airport in China and I saw another plane on another runway take off almost at the same time we did (he was headed away from us though)

  • Will my flight get cancelled?

I have an international direct flight in a few days and it’s supposed to rain all day “up to one inch” with 20-30 mph winds and possible thunderstorms when we take off. my flight is at 8:30 in the morning, are there good chances my flight will get cancelled or delayed?

Best answer: You shouldn't have to recheck your bags unless you have booked completely separate tickets for these flights. If they were on the same itinerary, with the same or partner airlines, then your bag will be automatically transferred for your flight.

That layover is shorter than I myself would like, but it will be enough time IF your first flight is on time. Your flight to London will probably start boarding 45-60 min before departure, so you really only have 30-45 min to get from one gate to the next (which also includes the time it takes your plane to get to the gate, and for you to get off your plane). They have a monorail between terminals, so you can move between them fairly fast. Don't stop at any shops or restaurants until you find your gate and make sure that you have some extra time.

If you have a layover in Newark (or elsewhere in the US) on your return, then you will have to clear Immigration and Customs before boarding your final flight. Be sure to leave extra time for that - 90 min would likely not be suficient.
