My husband is making a toy for our daughter. He wants to make it so when she puts all the pieces in their spot the light comes on, but if any pieces are in the wrong spot it won't. This will plug into the wall in the playroom. His plan is to use reed switches and magnets. put the magnets in the pieces and they will activate the closed reed switch. He wants to link 8 of them together to complete the circuit, so there will be 8 pieces to put in place. He wants to have the switches (which look like little tubes) in the box and a magnet in the piece. Will this work? Is he going to burn down the house? Any suggestions?

I'm wanting to level the concrete in my basement bathroom, and will be using self leveling concrete for my first time. I've watched some youtube videos on applying it and everyone is using a trowel to spread it after pouring it. So my confusion is this..If self leveling concrete is really self leveling, then why do you have to use a trowel to spread it? If you need to trowel the self leveling concrete, then in reality it is not actually self leveling, and it would also be possible to not spread it correctly and therefore have thick and thin spots or an uneven surface when finished. I wanted to use self leveling concrete to level my floor because I thought it would be an easy way to level the floor as I am not a professional concrete guy, but I'm worried about it not leveling itself now after watching people having to trowel it. I am a plumber, and have broken up several floors in my day to make repairs and then patched the holes back up with concrete again. But when it comes to leveling out an entire bathroom floor, I'm out of my element. Any advice about using the leveler? My room is about 10ft x 5ft than I need to level. the 5ft with of the room is sloping towards an old floor drain that that use to be in the bathroom that has now been abandoned. the side of the bathroom that had the floor drain is probably an 1 full inch lower that the other end of the room. This is the gap I need to fill and level. Thanks..

  • I always clog the toilet?

Best answer: You need to flush more than once. Flush before you wipe then flush again after you wipe, maybe even twice.

  • Need to find a quality tool which can hold the drill motor itself in order to make sure a VERY STRAIGHT hole is being drilled thru a post?

I have 6" x 6" vertical posts that supports 6" x 8" horizontal beams where by 5" x 5" x 3/8" thick angle iron is used to support the 6" x 8" beam to the 6" x 6" post. Some of these 6" x 6" post have the 6" x 8" beams on both sides of it and... show more
I have 6" x 6" vertical posts that supports 6" x 8" horizontal beams where by 5" x 5" x 3/8" thick angle iron is used to support the 6" x 8" beam to the 6" x 6" post. Some of these 6" x 6" post have the 6" x 8" beams on both sides of it and so will be using 1/2" x 7 1/2" long grade 5 bolts to run through both pieces of angle iron that are on opposite sides of the post, and so I need some sort of QUALITY-MADE jig, bracket, guide etc tool that can hold the drill motor itself (which has a spade bit) and allow me to drill a very straight hole through the 6" x 6" post that the 2 pieces of angle iron will be bolted to. Sure, I will be drilling the holes in the angle iron a little over-sized to compensate for a little bit of error but I still need something that will hold my drill motor straight since I have arthritis and not able to hold a drill as steady as I once did. Sorry but lag screws/bolts are out of the question ok
