    2. Yes the specs are compatible but I don’t like your pick of parts either. The Green label cx750 is junk but the Grey label cx750 is decent. Also, I’d recommend an EVGA B3 or Corsair TX. A 550w PSU is good for most cards and a 650w unit is enough for high end cards like the GTX 1080ti and AMD Vega 64.

I agree with the other guy, get Ryzen or spring for a Core i5-8600k and a z370 motherboard. The Core i5 7500 is obsolete.
    Passmark scores
    Core i5 7500, 8088
    Core i5-8100, 8075
    Core i5-7600k, 9150
    Core i3-8350k, 9221
    Core i5 8400, 11794
    Core i5 8600k, 12794

You can compile a build list at pcpartpicker.com and th pcpp forums are useful too. I’d buy all the parts for the build this weekend with all of the Memorial Day sales going.

Along with the other suggestion to check processes, go to the Startup Tab in the Task Manager
which indicates which programs are automatically starting.
Multiple apps install some processes which automatically run at startup without you doing anything.

You should review the processes in the Startup tab and you can right click on ones you
don't think are needed and disable them and check and see if it improves your memorry usage.
Also, you check if disabling process causes problems with the related application.

However with 16GB ram, using 3 GB RAM at startup should not slow anything down.
You should be in good shape.

  • Is 32 gigs of RAM overkill?

Best answer: Yes, overkill for most gaming and photo retouching purposes, but since you're not paying for it, it's no problem at all. DDR4 RAM is now some of the most expensive components on a PC these days. At modern DDR4 RAM prices, that 32-GB would likely cost anywhere between $280 to $500, depending on the performance and quality of the RAM, which is about the same prices as a very high-end CPU nowadays. That's just nutty prices, traditionally RAM hasn't been that expensive: usually for the RAM, you should expect to pay only about half the price of your CPU, more or less. So getting such a gift for free is a really expensive gift.

There is currently a lawsuit that has been filed against memory chip manufacturers, alleging that they are colluding with each other to keep the prices of RAM artificially high.

  • So i came home yesterday and the internet was not working again?

This time it won't detect it just on my devices both on my mobile's and my laptop's. It works on the landlady's device. Is there a reason? I thought this time it's not the crazy woman's fault but could be something with my devices.

Placed a new 8th gen cpu into a 7th gen motherboard and the computer would turn off immediately after I would try to turn it on. Ultimately figured out I goofed and did what I said above.
