DVD is a digital medium. How would one then describe the process, then, of the sound being inputted with analogue cables in a TV?

Best answer: an analog signal has variable amplitudes at any moment .... on the transmission, if the noise mixes with it.... the amplitudes will change so the form of the signal is changed... a digital signal is a series of 0 and 1( 1 is any voltage but non-zero ..) with different durations ... if it mixes with noise, the... show more

a digital signal is a series of 0 and 1( 1 is any voltage but non-zero ..) with different durations ... if it mixes with noise, the amplitude of 1 will change but no matter .. the limiter circuit will keep it constant so the noise cannot change the form of the digital signal ...

an analog signal is converted to the digital one ... then is transmitted without noise.... now the digital signal is converted to the analog one ....

result: the analog signal is converted to the digital for noiseless transmitting -
on the tv there are 1- converted to analog again for use on the tv ... 2- the digital type for transmitting to the other device..

  • Why My Samsung TV turned itself on at around 3am?

Best answer: It could be due to a faulty switch or, if it was on standby, a mains surge.
I used to have a hifi system that would turn itself on at apparently random times. It could be something as simple as a fridge motor starting up and sending a spike through the house wiring which the TV mistakes as a signal to turn on.

Best answer: Depends on who you are talking about. TV is probably not necessarily the Cheapest form of entertainment. Nice TVs can range from a $100 for a small TV to several thousand for much much larger screens and resolutions.
Then the service provider assuming they go for Dish or Cable or something like that can be $50 to several hundreds of dollars based on what they would like to subscribe to.

They can cut the cord but have to pay for initial fees for a device that provides them streaming choices.
But they may need internet service which can be around $20 on the real cheap to several hundred dollars for the speed they prefer to stream.

Otherwise without TV, there's board games, card games, potentially video games from their Smart Phones. If they don't subscribe to TV services, they can use a DVD/BluRay player etc to provide them entertainment, of course they have to have or purchase the devices to provide the media playback they want.
    Listen to the radio.

They can go play outside, play with their pets/animals, fish tank, draw/paint/color, make music/play music/listen to music. Perhaps go outside and do things in the yard.

    Quite a variety of things.

  • Why has my TV stopped working all of a sudden?

I have an insignia flat screen TV from Best Buy, gifted to me in February 2017. Within the past 3 weeks, whenever I turn the TV on, the screen will continue to stay black, other times when I turn the TV on it will work just fine. Has anyone else had this problem

  • I used paper towels to wipe my flat TV screen. Will it be ok?

Best answer: It will surely be okay, one time doesn't hurt. Plus most of the times those websites just tell you that it isn't recommended, you could wipe it with toilet paper for all I cared, as long as you wouldn't repeat the same error

  • I have an RCA tv #RT5030, but even the lowest volume is too loud, even when I switch between sound modes: sports, movies, etc, any ideas?

Best answer: some tv's allow you to set a Min/Max volume. perhaps you should check your switch on preferences. Some also have a Hotel mode which might prevent you from seeing those settings in the menu. dont know what your tv offers.

Best answer: Nonsense. The TV brand does not matter. As long as it has a suitable input socket then it will work with the hotel TV system.

The real problem for the hotel is that your own TV will not have the volume-limiting restriction which hotel TVs usually have to reduce noise disturbance to other residents.

For insurance reasons they will also probably have to get your TV checked for safety by an electrician who offers electrical appliance safety testing, and that will likely be at your own expense and will require an adhesive safety test “pass” sticker to be applied to the TV and to the power supply cable. As they tend to only get those tests done annually it will cost more than normal to get the electrician to make an out of cycle one-off visit.
