Bleach for black mold?
I know that bleach will make the area appear clean but it won’t kill the mold. So I’m thinking about using hydrogen peroxide to kill the mold, but I read that bleach and hydrogen peroxide shouldn’t be mixed. Can I spray one first and then the other after? Or would it cause the same reaction as mixing them together?

What would you do if your water meter trickled 1/100th of a cu. ft every 20-30 seconds but you couldnt find a leak anywhere under the house?
or in the walls. Pier and beam. Do I have to pay a plumber to find it? How do they find it if it's not visible anywhere? Without special equipment of some sort, do they suggest being paid thousands of dollars to start digging up the yard, all the way from the curb, under the house to the back of the house, looking for a leak underground? It's galvanized pipe that doesn't even come up out of the ground until the back of the house cause that's where the kitchen and bath are. House is 102 yrs old. Galvanized pipe with two leaks so far after the arctic blast but I fixed those. No water sounds or visible leaks now anywhere. The whole system needs to be ripped out and replaced with PVC or PEX, but I don't really want to invest more in the house. I'm afraid to even ask how much it would cost to do that.

Can I save a tulip bulb that is rotting and stinks?
I know nothing of plants I bought a tulip plant that was in a vase of water and it said to keep it in the water with just a bit of water below the bulb. I notice it rotting and stinks. I rinsed them as best as I could but now can I save them still? It's still kinda cold out and there's lots of snow so I doubt I can plant it out yet

Toilet tank empties by itself slowly, doesn't leak into bowl, and bowl holds water fine. I have to tap the level gage to fill tank and flush?
I'll go to flush my toilet (there is water in the bowl) and realize the tank is empty. I tap or touch the water level adjuster and water fills the tank and I flush. After I flush the tank fills again. If I stay and watch the tanks water level very slowly goes down. The water that is leaving the tank does not go into the bowl and the tank doesn't refill after this slow leak happens. Any ideas?

Can you use a 240V breaker on a 600V system?
This is hypothetical, I am just curious. Please give this some thought.
I have a 600V, 5HP motor (3728.5 Watts) and a 600V panel I want to supply it from.
If I use a 20A, 600V breaker - the breaker will see ~6A on motor run. (P/V=I , 3728.5/600 = ~6A)
If I use a 20A, 240V breaker - the breaker mechanism will act as if ~15.5A is passing through. (P/V=I , 3728.5/240 = ~15.5)
For a 20A breaker, looks like 240V would work. What am I missing here? Does voltage have any affect?

Why does my smoke alarm make weird noises?
I live in student halls and quite frequently (probably once a day/every other day) my smoke alarm will make strange noises. It will usually be a hissing noise (like the sound of air escaping from something) followed by a faint click. Sometimes it will be one of those noises on their own.
Is this something worth calling maintenance about or is it okay just to ignore?

Do you think anti freeze got in my well?
Almost a year ago, my truck leaked some anti freeze in my gravel driveway. I dug out a few inches, and properly dispose of it. I thought I got it all, but today it was raining, and I saw a little bit in the puddle I dug out. I have a well maybe 100 feet away. Its elevated lower then the anti freeze spot, but the land stops up a little bit, then stops down to the well, so I don't think it could run off down to the well. Could it travel 100 feet underground to the well water? I checked my well several months ago, and a little bit of the water had a rainbow sheen to it, but I think that was bevsue there was a leaf that fell in, and the oil from the leaf made it the water look shinny. Idk. Should I be worried about the anti freeze reaching the well?

my computer made one single long beep, what does that mean?
Favorite Answer:The type of beep your computer makes when starting up is meant to explain your computer's status. One long, continuous beep generally means that there is a hardware problem – often memory related – that can prevent your computer from starting up at all.
