Best answer: One thing I think happens is, with maturity, we learn that it is more important to select what looks good on us rather than the latest fads or trying to copy celebrities. When I was a teen I wanted to "look like everyone" else and have all the latest fads- even if they looked like crap on me. Now that I am older I am more into having my own personal style and peer pressure has nothing to do with what I wear. I also have to pay for my clothes now (as opposed to parents paying) so I look for good quality more classic pieces that will last. Trends are for inexpensive accessories only. I also am a lot more concerned with comfort now rather than fashion. As you age and your body starts to have issues, you realize healthy pain free feet are way more important than those high heels. If you have a couple kids or put on weight as you age, you need to rethink your fashion strategy sometimes and realize some looks are no longer good for you.

How I use make up has changed, I want a more subtle look now and it becomes more about camouflaging age than just wearing it for fun. AT some point you learn the whacky trends do not last and don't really look good on anyone. I want people to see me now, my my make up. You also learn to "pop" only one thing, not your whole face. When you get older you also finally realize staying out of the sun & wearing sunscreen when you were younger paid off!
