I'm a caffeine addict and recently switched from energy drinks/energy supplements to coffee because I wanted a more healthy source of caffeine. I do feel the caffeine from the coffee but I'm also getting these weird headaches that involve tension in my neck. My neck gets stiff after I drink coffee for some reason and it also doesn't fully wake me up the way something like the supplement "Amino Energy" by Optimum Nutrition does for example. I'm cold brewing my coffee and drinking it plain with nothing added. I'm wondering if there is something else in coffee that is causing me these headaches and stiff neck, like some other naturally occurring stimulant or chemical that I'm having trouble metabolizing. I never get this issue when I drink something like I mentioned "Amino Energy" powder or some other pre-workout supplement. I do occasionally get energy crashes from them but that typically happens when I didn't get enough sleep the night before. I've already went through and drank 3 gallons of coffee that I brewed myself but the whole time I never felt quite right like the way I do with an energy supplement. I'm not sure what to make of this.

  • Why do people drink Coke, Pepsi, and Dr. Pepper when there's root beer, Sprite, and Mountain Dew?

Also ginger beer should be more popular.

  • If caffeine is a stimulant, why is cocaine illegal?

Best answer: If you have never known a cocaine addict, then I guess you will not know the answer. I have seen what it does to people. I grew up in the bad part of town. I am 52. Best answer: If you have never known a cocaine addict, then I guess you will not know the answer. I have seen what it does to people. I grew up in the bad part of town. I am 52. Every hard drug user that I knew growing up (cocaine, morphine, etc) is long dead now. Most of them lived off the government by the age of 30-35, and of course spent the last ten years of their lives impotent.

My brother works in mental health (institutionalized patents). About half of his clients are living off the system because of drugs like cocaine. Most of them wear diapers, and cannot take care of themselves.

Cocaine addicts are easy to spot because they look so old. I have known several who look much older than I do even though they are ten years younger than I am. Having never used drugs, I am 52, but I could tell you I am less than 40, and you would be none the wiser.

I do not know anyone who died, or went on government assistance due to coffee.

The guy who broke into my house, and stole my identity was a hard drug addict. How many coffee addicts break into houses?

  • I am addicted to coffee?

Best answer: It's not the healthiest habit but there are worst habits out there.Personally i would say it would be a good idea to cut down. It's good you moved to decaffeinated though. Keep in mind coffee dehydrates you so be sure to drink lots of water.

  • Do you say "soda" or "pop" for your carbonated sips? Also, what state are you in?

Best answer: I have heard myself (and others) say both soda and pop plus "soda-pop", which was what it was called when I was a tater tot in the 60's. As well we call them soft drinks around here. I have used that term as well. Whatever rolls off the tongue at that moment seems to work. Washington State.
