Best answer: Yes, because I have autism. But I wish I didn't. I want to be normal. I'm tired of being autistic.

I'm an adult and have a lot of work experience. I'd like to go back to school, however. I'm still trying to figure out which particular field, but I'm pretty sure that I want to do something related to computers. I can't not work full-time. I have to work my 40 hours per week to keep my life in order. Obviously, that's going to mean going to school part-time. I used to work jobs with a variety of hours that changed around a lot, but I'm now in the typical corporate/bankers hours field of 8ish to 5ish Monday-Friday. I haven't gone to college before and really don't have a desire to get more than an Associates. I'd rather use that to get a better paying job in whatever field and then just work my way up from there. So I have some questions: How long will this take and what can I reasonable compress this down to time-wise without compromising my health, sleep or job? How does part-time college work when intermingled with people who are attending full-time, for instance? Are there classes for part-time vs full-time students? I would only attend part of the classes that the full-timers go to or what?

Best answer: As is usually the case, you have some choices. You are angry because you didn't think you deserved to get a "detention" in the first place, so you are doubly irritated by the second one. Normally people outside the situation would simply write you off as a stubborn, immature little jerk and drop the matter, but I am going to assume you are in the process of moving to a higher level, you're capable of looking at things from a more mature perspective, and you're ready to act wisely. The first "detention" was a result of "bad behavior," and you are smart enough to see that for yourself. It's in your post, and it shows you to be getting more shrewd. You made a mistake when you failed to own up to what you did, accept responsibility for it, and deal with the result. You've got a chance, though, to put it right, and I hope you take it. Not attending the first "detention" was another form of "bad behavior," so obviously there were going to be additional consequences. Jumping on "Answers" and looking for someone to agree with you that it's all "terribly unfair" isn't logical or mature. The smart thing to do is to take responsibility, serve out the two "detentions," and work to repair your damaged reputation. You're on the edge of becoming someone marked to do great things, and accepting consequences is one step forward. The other is not getting needlessly into trouble in the first place, so the "bad behavior" must stop. This isn't what you want to hear, but right now is the time to move in a sensible direction. You'll be glad of it ultimately.

I'm not academic and suffer with very bad mental health, I worry 24/7, I need to buy a car and get driving lessons done soon, public transport is getting too expensive for everyday use and a car isn't cheap but worth it and makes my life a whole lot easier, my GCSEs are all below D grade, I urgently need help before I just end my life as I'm starting to feel like there's no hope, everyone keeps saying I'll never get anywhere in life, I can't live on minimum wage.
