• Can the bank cash a check of $15,000?

I got a check of $15,000 from my grandma’s estate and want to cash it. I have a checking account with Chase. Would they be able to cash it or cash some of it then put the rest in my account? Will it look suspicious to the IRS?

  • What do you do if you lose your credit card and access to your funds during the weekend?

This hasnt happened to me yet. But what happens if you lose your debit card on a weekend when banks are closed and you cant go to the branch and get funds. Do you just have to starve till Monday if you usually eat out rather than buy groceries?

Best answer: Right at the beginning, when the referendum result was announced, one politician said that it won't be as bad as you fear it will be, and won't be as great as you hope it will be.
All changes pan out in the end, and everyone learns to adapt to whatever the new norm is. For a while, especially if we are forced to crash out with no trade agreement there will be a period of time when the pound drops even more in value, and there may be shortages in shops, medical supplies and so on. But eventually we will recover. We will make new trade deals across the world. The pound will eventually bounce back. Look at how strong it once was by comparison with the Euro a while back. That's significant.
Not all is well with the EU. Its failure to deal with mass immigration and the loss of the UK, as well as failing economies within it, are all going to have a future effect.
What will be changed, is our ability to cross European borders with the ease we did previously. We will no longer have the right to do so. But neither will we be forced to house, school and medically treat all those people who previously had the right to just move in among us. Already I see many more notices for employees wanted. Some claim this is a negative and we will struggle to fill lower paid jobs. I say this can be a positive and an opportunity to teach our own people that work is the way to go and that there's no shame in taking some of the jobs that Europeans have been happy to do.
So, give it a while to settle down and all will be well. Different maybe, but well.

  • I received a call saying I won a raffle at a mall? Is it a scam?

I received a call saying I won a raffle at a mall and that I won a lot of money. And it sounded like an automated voice not a person. It’s true I did enter my info to win a car at a mall. But this still sounds like a scam. Is it a scam?

  • Should I pay off my car loan or start investing?

Best answer: The amount you are likely to earn investing is a lower percentage than your typical car loan. Pay the loan off first. Set aside savings equal to a minimum of three months' wages (six is better), then consider investing.

Too many people don't understand that they have entered a legal contract for a set period, when they sign up for direct debit. You are not let off your payments by just summarily refusing to pay your installment every month. Call them and ask to set up a new DD, saying you accidentally cancelled the last.

I plan to be a single mother through IVF in 5 years time when I have my first child. By then I will be working full-time for the NHS. How long will I be able to be paid while taking time off work to care for the baby before I have to return to work? I see that people on benefits are not required to look for work while their youngest child are under the age of 3 or 4; so would that sort of be the same amount of time before I have to return to work? At the moment I am researching about it, so I thought I’s ask on online forums first. Thank you for answering.

  • Smart ways to save money?

Best answer: Save 10% of your total income. Have the money taken directly from our check (if possible) OR have your check deposited into a checking account and then have the bank remove 10% of it each period.

bottomline, you need to become more responsible
