Many people are rubbishing me, telling me I am wrong without even trying it. Your engine will run better, you will get better gas milage, and it will even sound better. Before you rubbish other people try it for yourselves. We need to stop governments from pushing us around. I know for some of yoy you need cat converters to pass MOT , but once you get your MOT take them off

  • How bad are car brakes?

I noticed in the last week a big grinding noise from my front brakes. The worst is when I am at my final point of stopping. I feel I need brakes and rotors. I drive less now and may wait until spring. How bad are brakes and what can happen if I wait to fix them?

Hi guys, I started a new job in February were part of the perks was a company vehicle. The car I received was used for 8 months by the guy I took over from and during his time he had two accidents in the car which where both repaired. I have had one accident where I lost control in the bad ice and cracked an alloy and again repairs where done. Last couple of days I have felt the car a little bumpier than usual and just generally doesn’t feel smooth as before. I had a friend look at the suspension and he thought all looked ok but today I’m sure I can here a knocking noise. The car is leased through a leasing company and has alwAys been serviced correctly by bmw but I’m stressing about mentioning to my boss as there is always something with this car. My question is if there is a problem who pays? Is it all covered through the lease company as there has been no further accidents and I was thinking it’s just wear and tear? Thanks in advance

  • Would this look bad on a car?

Would it look bad If a car has side Windows tinted but not the rearview windshield? My dad is doing my tint but doesn't have enough for the back. He said it wouldn't be noticeable but I'm not sure.

I bought a used car from my friend which had an overheating problem and one day the engine overheated and died. My friend felt awful and even refunded me partially for the car. Anyways, when the engine died and the car towed to me mechanic, he looked at it and told me the car needs a new engine. I decided to just get another car. So I gave my mechanic the title. I got my new car and a few months later, I checked on carfax and saw that my mechanic fixed the car and resold it after I handed him the title. He had told me he was going to send it to scrapyard. Was that mean of him to do and did he rip me off? Or was he just conducting business? According to carfax, after giving him my car, the mechanic replaced the spark plugs, valve cover gaskets, exhaust pipe seal and manifold gasket. He had told me my engine needed replacement. What's the deal?

The lights that were coming on were my ABS light, battery light, break light, gas light(for a short period). Then my RPM gauge started fluctuating and just stopped. After my gas gauge, which I have a full tank of gas, went to half. I get to one of the stops I had to make and cut my car off only to not have my car start. I had someone try and give me a jump but it didn't seem to help. I tried starting the car and all I hear is a clicking sound. The car lights and all come on but it won't fully turn over.

  • How reliable are the 2016-2019 Honda Civics?

Best answer: Civics are just coming out of my ten year "don't buy new" quarantine, triggered by the cracking engine blocks of 2006. Honda has done fairly well in the last decade (after the 2007 Accord brake fiasco) but I wonder if it is a "kaisen" philosophy at work or if they have just winged it. Honda has a long history of letting serious problems, like the Great Honda Automatic Transmission Debacle of 1998-2004, become its customer's problems.

Almost nobody had heard of drive axles breaking when an asker asked about it happening to her CR-V, and it doesn't happen to most vehicles. They use tubular drive axles. Honda has fallen in love with rod style drive axles for its lower unsprung weight (better ride). The problem is they have developed a habit of breaking, leaving the vehicle stranded. I am not a Honda fan any more.

IMHO, if you want reliability, look to Toyota rather than Honda. Still not 100% but a lot better than Honda has done.

I haven't done anything about it because it's an expensive repair. According to my mechanic, the labor would be the same, since he has to take it out regardless. But the rack would be pretty expensive too. I don't want to pay for that, if all I need is the bushing.

Plus I live with my dad and don’t want him to find out. Hoping the neighbor doesn’t tattle tomorrow morning. It’s a pretty good sized scrape that looks like it goes passed the rear fender, so I expect no less than $1,000.
