My parents were searching for a car for me for awhile. Finally, after months, they found one & bought it for me without me knowing. It was surprisingly cheap for the amount of miles it had on it. Even though I didn't really like it, I was so grateful because I finally had a car & it was very nice of them to buy it. I signed papers and the car is in my name. However, within the first couple weeks, all these problems arise in the car. It needed new parts. Since the car was cheap, my parents were kind enough to purchase some new parts. Then, I find out that the same problem keeps happening even after we got new parts. Now, I may have to get a new battery to fix it. We don't even know for sure if it will fix the problem. I looked up this problem with my car and it turns out thousands of the same car that i have got a recall for this problem. I feel like it's unable to be fixed. Is it spoiled of me to think that I shouldn't have to pay to fix it since I never had a say in purchasing it?

  • If you had $50,000 to spend on a new or used car plus the extra money for license, registration, tax and fees what would you buy?

Best answer: Probably an odd response, but I'd buy a brand new Chevy Express 15 passenger van although I'd look at the Nissan NV3500 too. They're around $40k brand new and fully loaded with a gas engine. They're over $50k brand new and fully loaded with the diesel though. Not really a fancy choice but I have a... show more

Not really a fancy choice but I have a big family and the Express and/or NV vans have the space I need and the towing capacity for a large travel trailer. I currently drive a Ford 12 passenger and it works but its getting old.

If I could keep the difference I'd buy one about 5 years old for around $20k and keep the difference or use it to upgrade my other car also, but if it had to be spent on the one car I'd get the new van.

  • What's the truth about letting your car get under half a tank?

Is it really that bad? I see why under a quarter tank can put stress on your fuel pump. But half a tank seems a little over caution. Anyone agree

I have a Honda civic 2015, it s fairly new. My battery completely died, and when I tried to jumpstart as usual (I ve had ongoing battery isues for a while now) it did not start. At first I thought they were cables, so I tried another set of cables, when I connected the lines, sparks were produced and I could see smoke where the plastic lining on the clasps were melting. When I tried to take it off, it was extremely hot to to touch. This was really weird to me, this never happens. I connected them correctly, so I tried two other cables, same thing. I ended up changing my car battery, thinking my battery simply died. The car still won t start after changing the battery, and no lights come on when I try to start the car. It s completely dead. No response from pushing the start button. Did I short a circuit or is this a bigger issue than I originally thought ?

From the shaking and what i can tell, thw problem seems to bw coming from the front passenger side. I thought it might be my tires so I replaced all of them. I have also replaced my wheel bearing and hub. The ball joint and out tie rod were also replaced but the problem still exist. Please help. It feels like something is going to fall off.
