If Estrada can come back from the injuries and play as well this year as he did in 2017, he will probably be able to reach the majors by the end of the season.

  • Do you think the Sox can repeat this year?

Best answer: They certainly have the team to do it. But repeating is hard. It's a looooong season. Injuries are the great unknown, and players have off-years after great ones. Repeating is hard.

  • With the way the Red Sox won the World Series, should that put away the notion of launch angle?

Best answer: it's hard to say. in 2016, Cubs were all about launch angle. had a lot of home runs from the team, but was still working deep counts, being patient, taking walks. in 2017, something happened and they were hitting home runs, but weren't great in situational play. getting guys on, and just bringing them... show more
Best answer: it's hard to say. in 2016, Cubs were all about launch angle. had a lot of home runs from the team, but was still working deep counts, being patient, taking walks.

in 2017, something happened and they were hitting home runs, but weren't great in situational play. getting guys on, and just bringing them home.

in 2018, they signed a coach to help in situational hitting, and was just never consistent. it was either feast or famine, and that showed in the second half.

i think it really depends on the team and the skill set of players in that specific team. if there are more power guys, don't force them for just contact. otherwise it might not work. and vice versa.

  • Where Do you think Bryce Harper will sign? Why?

Best answer: it's anyone's guess really. some say now the phillies are out of the race for both harper and machado. some say the cardinals might make a run for harper. the dodgers traded kemp and puig, theoretically clearing space for harper. but, then they come back and say they won't commit a contract longer... show more

some local reporters are also saying the white sox are now also out of the running for harper or machado as well.

so, unless he goes back to the nationals, or the cubs are able to trade away some of their out fielders to get him, who knows where he'll end up. the cubs are supposed to get a TV network deal, similar to the yankees, which will supposedly help bring in revenue. but it won't be until next year. so unless they sign him to a back loaded deal, it won't work if harper wants most of his contract up front. or just an even $30 million a year.

  • Do you think Theo Epstein deserves a great deal of the blame for failing to improve the Cubs during the offseason?

Best answer: he kept cole hamels and signed some players for depth in the infield. and the off season isn't over yet. and as we learned from last year, big name players might wait until mid March until they finally sign. there's still two months until Spring Training, so don't count him out just yet.

  • Why did mlb baseball player Cody Stanley get suspended for 1 year for testing positive for same steroid metabolite jon jones did?

Best answer: UFC and MLB are not the same entities and don't have the same rules. They may hire the same agency to do their testing, but that doesn't mean the results of the testing have to be treated the same. Those are league/organization rules.
