• Can picking your skin cause myopia?

Best answer: No. Myopia is caused by the shape of the eyeball. It does tend to get worse through the teen years, and then level out.

  • Is there any way to get your vision back after retinal bleeds?

My grandma lost vision in the middle of her left eye and the right side of her right eye due to retinal bleeds. Is there anyway to fix this? Like a special type of glasses? She used to be able to drive and now I’m sad because she can’t.

  • Should I let my daughter take a day off from school?

She managed to break her glasses at a friend's house and now claims her eyesight is too bad for her to see anything in the classroom. She's also out of contacts! I wear contacts myself and my prescription is -0.75. Hers are -3.25 and her glasses are quite a bit chunkier than my own. I'm pretty sure her bad vision comes from my ex-husband who couldn't see anything without his contacts. He was something like a -10 though. Is -3.25 bad enough to stay at home? Or is she making excuses? We're getting new glasses from LensCrafters tomorrow.

  • Is it normal to ease on to stronger glasses?

I went to Specsaver recently for an eye test and found I need to wear stronger glasses. I went to Specsaver recently for an eye test and found I need to wear stronger glasses. The optician said at the end when I was ordering my glasses that I will get a lower strength to begin with and then work my way up to stronger ones. Is this normal? My prescription has only gone up -0.75 and when I first started wearing glasses I jumped straight on to -1.5. So I find it a bit strange to have to build up for what seems like a rather small change. The optician said that this is normal but I should have also asked if they would charge me to change the lens each time. Does anyone know if this is the case? Thanks

There were probably fewer of them. Controlled studies have found that myopia is less likely if you spend more time outside during the time that myopia develops. People back then were much less likely to be inside as children. Myopia has a genetic factor. Myopic people would be less likely to reproduce if it was a major handicap. • Is my eye prescription bad?

Best answer: Why did your mom yell at you? It's not like that was your fault. She probably just doesn't want to pay for glasses.

  • Does wearing glasses make your vision worse or improves it?

Best answer: No controlled studies have shown that it makes any difference. If you wear glasses, you will get used to seeing well. This will make you less willing to see poorly. Living with a dish washer does not decrease your ability to wash dishes, it just makes you less willing to do it. Wear glasses if you want. No matter what you do, you will require glasses or contacts to see clearly until you have surgery.
