  • Is bad if a child's iq is 84? Does it grow as an adult?

My niece took an official test claiming she has an iq of 84, and that it was below average. She is also in a special education program. Does this change as an adult? Also please dont give me a political correct answer like ''it doesn't matter'' or any of that.

Best answer: Given some of the scores I'm aware of, you're not in bad shape.

Look, some people just don't test very well. When I was in high school, a friend and I both applied to Yale. She had some of the worst SAT scores I've ever seen -- far, far lower than mine. However, she was a top student with very interesting activities and experiences. We both got in.

Admissions officers would much rather see high grades and low SAT scores than vice-versa. If your scores are high but your grades low, they think you aren't working up to your abilities. The main issue might be your school. They know the high schools; they know the quality of education each one offers. It could be that your school isn't offering a really rigorous education, so that you weren't as well-prepared for the exam as you should have been.

I can't say whether that was the case, but I don't think you should worry a great deal. Take the SATs again if you wish, and take some SAT II subject tests as well. (Good colleges may require them.) I hope, too, that you've been taking the most challenging classes your school has to offer -- AP and honors classes. That will help.

You could also choose to apply to schools that are no longer requiring that you submit test scores.

    Good luck

    Best answer: No.

An "A-Level" (short for "General Certificate of Education: Advanced Level") is a qualification.

Obtaining an A-Level will usually require passing several exams, and possibly fulfilling other criteria such as coursework or practical assessments.

Obtaining an A-Level will usually result in you being given a paper certificate; however this is not the qualification itself - only evidence that you have obtained it. The certificate without the qualification (for example if it is fraudulently obtained or revoked) is worthless; and losing the certificate doesn't mean you no longer have the qualification.
