Is it really hard to believe that I get 90g protein per day from a plant based diet?

  • Why media is forcing us to become vegan?

Best answer: Which media? The only sites I have seen strongly promoting the vegan diet are generally radical pro-vegan websites masquerading as news sites. To date other than reporting on a variety of studies, which is part of their job, I have not noticed any pro-vegan bias in any of the main stream news media. In fact many... show more

To date other than reporting on a variety of studies, which is part of their job, I have not noticed any pro-vegan bias in any of the main stream news media. In fact many of them have just as many stories relating to meat consumption and how it is best prepared. I read the fortune.com article sited in a previous answer and although it contradicts other information I read in a National Geographic article the actual outcome is the same. The article I read stated that consumption per consumer has fallen slightly but total consumption has increased which suggests that people that formerly avoided meat have added it back into their diet.

  • How much protein does a 16 year old vegan girl need?

I'm 5'1 and my weight goes between 90 and 100 lbs. I'm not very active. I do go on walks often though. Today I got 57.2 grams of protein. Is that enough? I'm wondering cause I hear plant protein is harder to absorb.

  • Why is being vegetarian different from vegan?

Best answer: There's many different kinds of vegetarians (different sets of picky rules). Some drink milk, some don't. Some eat eggs, some don't. Some "vegetarians" even eat fish (doesn't make sense to me but it's true). Some apply the "rules" to non-food items like not using leather... show more

Some "vegetarians" even eat fish (doesn't make sense to me but it's true). Some apply the "rules" to non-food items like not using leather or any animal products at all (almost impossible in my opinion - I think these people are kidding themselves - and is using oil-based products really any better)?

In my opinion it isn't about "all or none" but rather finding a good balance for healthy people and a healthy planet, but that DOES mean eating less meat and more vegetables because we are out of balance right now but we don't have to take it to extremes.

  • If we all lived in a Vegan World would you wear a Vegan coat made out of Pineapple leafs or even Vegan trousers made out of apple skin?

Some clothes and shoes are made with recycled plastic, and another is using wood pulp (Lyocell and Modal).
Soy silk and peace silk are starting to find traction.
But to turn your jest around, pineapple leather is used in shoes now.

  • What are some foods that give the same nourishment and full-feeling as eating meat, and are just as delicious?

Best answer: Many people use some sort of beans as a meat replacement. No, they don't taste like meat, but you can use some of the same seasonings that you might use with meat. I can't recommend any specific ones because I don't use many seasonings on the meat that I cook. They are high fibre and that helps with... show more

They are high fibre and that helps with fullness....for a while.

Taste is an opinion and beans, soy, other fake meats, IMO, will never taste as delicious as meat.

ADDED: no one plant food gives you the same nutrients as meat. That's why Vegans need to eat a lot of a wide variety of different foods every day.
