I didn't realize that people get pissy over people referring to themselves as pet "parents". Sure there are the few crazies who treat their animals like a human child but most people fully know that their pet is an animal and don't treat them like a person.
Whether or not you give birth to the animal is not a good argument. People adopt kids. And yes, you can adopt animals. There are these things called shelters.

  • I have no live insects, what can I feed a house spider (in England the big type with long legs not chubby looking wolf spider)?

I have slight phobia of spiders meaning if they stay in one area I don't mind but when they're the type to be running around, getting inside of my slippers, on/in my bed or sitting near my feet or other inconvenient (and potentially dangerous for him too) places I get the shudders and have to put them outside. I nearly crushed this spider last night as it got in my slippers, I caught it and put it in a clear plastic tub that has air holes. Ive had dramatic day and forgot about it so decided to do it this evening but I'm now locked in until tomorrow morning. I don't want to drop him out of a window of 3 flights as others have suggested sliders are not that invincible. I'm worried because it's been very hot he'll be getting dehydrated. He does not look well fed. I've soaked some toilet roll in spring water and thrown some spinach leaf in as don't have any undefrosted meat. And all I have is duck necks and whole livers anyway which too big for a spider. Is there anything else I can try, or will I just have to hope he survives until morning? There is one big fly in the building, little chance of me or him catching it

I'm not do curious as to the prosses that long ago was taken to take these animals but I am curious why, from what I've seen, other species haven't been tamed to a point of regular safety. One example, the black bear. Where I live black bears are not uncommon. They have plenty of healthy space for them here. They are dangerous meet eating animals, but so were dogs before man tamed them. Why couldn't, over an amount of tamed and trained generations, black bears, become a regular pet or ranch animal? I'm not saying it should be done, I'm simply curious as to why other animals breeds haven't become regularly tamed. Thank you.

I would only suggest a specific breed of dog that it notorious for loving human attention and wanting to snuggle up to it's owner (not necessarily true for all), such as a Labrador, Chihuahua, Golden Retriever, Greyhound or Maltese.
Half my cats love being held, the other half not so much. The best way to find the perfect cat for you that would enjoy cuddling is to go to a rescue. They will have lots of cats up for adoption and their is bound to be one that would love to sit on your lap and let you pet it for long periods of time.
Another option is to volunteer with cats at a rescue. This way the cats get a chance to socialise, you can cuddle the ones that are ok with it and it will help to keep them and yourself busy.

I’m not sure why because they don’t smell and she won’t have to take care of it, I will. The only difference between having the hermit crabs and not is not being able to spray perfumes or air freshners (but she can do it outside the room). I don’t understand why it is a big deal and why she doesn’t want it so much. Should I still get it? I have been saving up for the last two years to get a tank for the hermit crabs but all of a sudden she doesn’t want them in our room.

I would also ask them what they plan on feeding the rabbit, what bedding/litter they will be using, ask if they will be neutered etc so you know if they are fed proper food, have safe litter and just to overall get an idea of how much the people know about rabbits or if they at least are willing to learn. If they are not 100% sure how to care for them but willing to learn you can send them with a care sheet.
I would probably charge about $20 per rabbit. Or even give them away for free (but I wouldn't advertise them as free in any ads you make) as long as I got to see the setup and they knew how to properly care for the rabbits because if I was selling them, I ultimately would just want them to find good homes. I wouldn't care about the money. You could charge more but if they are not neutered, people likely won't want to spend as much because neutering is expensive. Especially spays (cost me $250 to spay my rabbit). The shelter near me charges $58 for neutered rabbits.

  • I want to be a vet but I’m squeamish and too emotional?

I love animals and want to make a difference in the world, and helping animals get better would be one of the most rewarding things in the world. But I’m kinda squeamish when it comes to blood and gore, and I always cry when I see an animal in pain. Would it be a bad idea for me to be a vet?

Best answer: Rabbits are particularly sensitive to lots of thing so I would really discourage the use of any essential oils around them. It's not just coming into contact with them as the (and you) are still breathing in the phenols. I know that essential oils in any form are considered bad to dangerous for a cat, so I suspect it would be even worse for a rabbit.

The peppermint oil won't do much for repelling mice, either. The attraction of food is much stronger to them then the smell of any type of essential oil. You need to keep all food in a sealed and sturdy container, and more importantly go around the house and seal up any cracks they can use to come in to the house (you can get caulking and an expanding foam at home improvement stores like Lowe's and even Walmart). Look along the perimeter of the house, around the window sills, where the house meets the foundation, and where the utility wires come into the house. Tiny field mice can squeeze in through holes the size of a dime, and very tiny cracks.
