Best answer: It depends on the machine you are using; some have auto facilities of various types.

Generally, you would manually turn the tape over then continue on the other side, which also takes it back to the start of the first side.

You mention "after 90 minutes" - that implies a 180 minute (total) tape. I would strongly advise against using those, as to get that length of tape in the cassette it means the material is extremely thin and they are prone to poor results, the tape curling / creasing etc. and being generally more prone to damage and jamming.

Try to stick to C60 or C90 cassettes (30 / 45 mins per side), you will get much better long-term results.

Tip: If you play the same part of a cassette several times (without playing the full end-to-end length), occasionally use fast forward/fast rewind and do let it run full length to realign the tape on the spools. That can prevent jamming and the edges creasing.

  • I'm told that there is a DVR box or some other device then when hooked up will give you free unlimited cable?

Best answer: Not true. All cable companies now use encrypted signals, and only the cable company's equipment can decrypt them. The era where you could buy a cable box and get "free cable" ended in the 80s. The era where you could bribe the cable guy to give you "free cable" ended around 2010. Since... show more

Since you can't buy cable boxes any longer, you can't even move into a place and get "free cable" from the previous tenant's subscription.

  • How long can a VCR (VHS Player) last?

Best answer: These things can really last almost forever. I own an FM radio with real tubes in it that was built in 1942, and that thing still works. I also have a VHS player somewhere from the mid-1980s, I think it would work if I tried. Some self-recorded tapes are also around, maybe I'll check my attics at christmas... show more

Just take care when storing vintage electronics, they don't like cold and moisture. But if you store them properly, 40 to 50 years they should stand. And TAKE OUT THE BATTERIES from battery-powered devices, they contain corrosive substances, and when they leak, the device is gone.
