• Is it possible to get a graphics card for my laptop if it doesn’t have one?

Best answer: Depends. Cannot tell just from "laptop" if yours has soldered chip for the video, none and only the integrated graphics as part of the CPU, or if the motherboard has a plug in MXM format card that can be upgraded. Best answer: Depends. Cannot tell just from "laptop" if yours has soldered chip for the video, none and only the integrated graphics as part of the CPU, or if the motherboard has a plug in MXM format card that can be upgraded. Also some laptops have a mini-PCIe port for the plugged in wireless adapter. That can be used to interface to an external docking station for a desktop video card, power supply and monitor. There are similar ones for laptops with Expresscard slots, and Thunderbolt 3 or USB 3.1 type C port connections that can act as Thunderbolt.
A few very special laptops have custom connectors to same maker docks that have high performance video sent right back to the laptop's display.
So what you might have matters. That is all that can be guessed from your details that were nothing.

When you buy these things they never warn you that you can’t use it outside etc. And also I don’t know the difference cos you can use both of them for computer programming, they do same things except I chose this laptop cos it’s thin and white coloured. The damn thing is getting old I noticed today as well as the colour is not as strong and the small dirt streaks can’t be wiped off. I only use it for my uni work and browsing, nobody said anything about using it outside in hot temperatures what the hell?!

It depends on which country you are from/bought the laptop, but usually you have 14 days to return for a full refund, some stores exempt electronics from return/refunds.

The battery problem should be covered under the warranty, but usually batteries them selves are not covered under the warranty cover, but this sounds like a defect rather than a worn out battery so it should be covered.

My little brother has a 2017 MacBook pro, we live in Indonesia so shops here can sometimes be dodgy and there aren t any legitimate apple stores, only official resellers and even they are dodgy. Anyway, he seems to have broken the connection between the laptop and the display, where the screen occasionally goes black, but every part of the screen works perfectly, but theres something wrong with the connection. For those of you that know the insides of a MacBook, is there a cable that connects these together than can be replaced, or does the whole display need to be replaced. I m trying to work out whether these people are trying to con me as they want to replace the whole display which apparently costs 600USD, and when I said im going to get a second opinion they reduced it to 450 USD. Yeah and these are OFFICIAL apple resellers. So you can understand my skepticism. Let me know please, thanks.

Best answer: Troubleshooting your battery error starts with removing the battery while your computer is plugged in. Keep it plugged in; otherwise, it will turn off. If everything works correctly on AC power, this indicates a bad battery. However, reinserting the battery can kickstart the computer back to charging the battery like normal if it's simply a fluke. If charging doesn't return to normal, remove the battery and reboot the computer before inserting it once more.

Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery
Repeatedly seeing the "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" notice may indicate an issue with a Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery, which is the name Windows gives to the batteries included in laptops. The computer may have trouble recognizing it properly. Open the Device Manager from the Control Panel. Expand "Batteries" and right-click on "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery." Select "Uninstall" and then right-click "Batteries" and select the option to scan for hardware changes. If this doesn't remedy the issue, uninstall the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery, and then remove the battery and reboot the computer. Replace the battery upon restarting.

    Considerations
Many laptops have functions that enable you to switch between running on battery, charging the battery and running on AC power. If you don't normally use the shortcuts that switch between modes, you may have accidentally pressed those buttons. For example, Dell laptops often use the F2 or F3 key in addition to FN. Pressing both enables you to cycle through the modes, and you will see the on-screen display notification about the current setting. Once you enable charging, the battery icon in the taskbar will show to indicate charging and battery status.

But now, I've realized that my computer is a bit slow, not to slow to ask for a replacement. The computer responds pretty slow. When i scroll up and down, switch applications (+ using multitask function), typing, etc. The lag translates into some visual lag although it seems RAM isn't an issue as problems occur on low and high capacity. Examples include: Typing: midway, words fail the register then after a 1 second lag all the words appear suddenly. Apps: the outline of the app appears first then takes 1-3 seconds to correctly load the whole app. Scrolling: the FPS when scrolling up and down are pretty bad on some apps like spotify. Otherwise, some occasional spikes in FPS.

I got this Asus laptop I'm typing on right now back in 2014. For a couple of years my laptop would make a loud fan blowing noise. It randomly comes and goes, I used to use my laptop on my bed for the first couple years. It really got heated. The noise was annoying but after adjusting my laptop position or slapping it (I know that's prolly not good) the sound went away. Now it's 2018 and I use my laptop on a desk. Lately the noise has been going out of control. Like it's REALLY LOUD MOTOR noises like it's going to explode. It heats up a lot and I can feel it on the mouse touch pad. My friend tried cleaning the laptop with compressed air but it didn't work. Basically I'm asking is my laptop dying? Will it just stop turning on eventually? Should I back up everything and buy a new laptop/pc?
