A cousin of mine received an email she claims is from Youtube stating that they want to pay her 2 thousand for the views she's generated on her videos and they are asking for an account in which to deposit the payment. I have not yet seen the email, so I wanted to see if anyone has heard of Youtube sending emails like this. Personally, I think it might be a scam but I'm not sure since I really don't know how Youtube pays youtubers. What should I look out for in the email when I see the email?

Facebook started as a web app for college students to connect with one another. At first, it was only available to students. You had to have a .edu email address to even open an account. In the very early stages, you had to have an Ivy League email address, an email address from Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Brown, Cornell, Penn, Colombia, or Dartmouth. What the idea was based off of was these books that used to circulate the Ivy League schools that had the names, pictures, basic information, and phone numbers of students throughout the Ivy League. Students used those to meet others, mostly for dating. Students used to browse through those books of faces and when they saw a face they liked, someone they were attracted to, they'd call that person and chat them up. That's how Facebook started, as an online version of that, hence the name.

  • Is it possible to get a graphics card for my laptop if it doesn’t have one?

Best answer: Depends. Best answer: Depends. Cannot tell just from "laptop" if yours has soldered chip for the video, none and only the integrated graphics as part of the CPU, or if the motherboard has a plug in MXM format card that can be upgraded. Also some laptops have a mini-PCIe port for the plugged in wireless adapter. That can be used to interface to an external docking station for a desktop video card, power supply and monitor. There are similar ones for laptops with Expresscard slots, and Thunderbolt 3 or USB 3.1 type C port connections that can act as Thunderbolt.
A few very special laptops have custom connectors to same maker docks that have high performance video sent right back to the laptop's display.
So what you might have matters. That is all that can be guessed from your details that were nothing.

  • Why do people use "Windoze" and "M$" when they want to write Windows or Microsoft?

I have recently converted to Linux and am reading a LOT of online posts to get to learn the new system. I've seen these two terms being used off and on. What do they even mean? Surely a person smart enough to write instructions about compiling applications from source code knows this isn't right..
