• All of these random numbers that I don’t recognize at all keep calling me. They are from various places.?

What do I do to get them to stop calling? It’s freaking me out and making me uncomfortable. I think some of them might be telemarketers but I’m too afraid to answer any of the calls. It just says the number and the location they’re calling from.

If the call is legit, a voicemail message will be left. If there is a voicemail message, you'll be able to tell that it's fake by the robotic voice and the tempting offer of a refund by a company that's going out of business. Don't answer unfamiliar calls.

For a land line phone. most phone companies can provide an anonymous call reject service for a few dollars. That will reject calls that do nto provide any caller ID.

However, since caller ID is not delivered until after the first ring, you may still hear that. Some cordless phone have the ability to suppress the first ring, and have the ability themselves to reject a call with no caller ID information.

On some cordless phones, you can program them to ignore the first ring. That way you would never hear anything from an anonymous caller.

I want to put a simple phone intercom between the garage and the dock at my cabin. I have seen videos and diagrams for using old landline phones as a "hot line" triggering a external ringer on phone A when the receiver of phone B is simply picked up (and vise a versa) but in order to ring a 9v battery is needed at each phone. I'd rather not have to replace batteries, rather use regular wall outlet power. However, the dock doesn't have it's own power. I know that normally when the phone is connected to the wall jack it gets its power from the phone line, similar to Power Over Ethernet (POE). Is there a way to wire the phone line so that the power in the garage is used to activate the phone's built in ringer at the dock?

I recognized the name and phone numbers so I answered but it turns out to be a telemarketer calling about a vacation. My mom's name and number showed up so I thought it was her but it wasn't. First, I thought it was her and she was playing a joke but then I knew it wasn't her voice. Anyone ever have this happen to them? What do I do to stop this so I don't stop answering when my mom's really calling me?
