Plan also to work out 4x a week rather its walking for 30 mins. Get a crockpot and make veggie soups if you dont like cooking crockpots are a life saver for me. If you really want to get the most out of weight loss you should do a detox first.

    3 Day Detox:
    Consume fruits and veggies or soups only, lots of water atleast consume half your body weight (no noodles,bread,meat,dairy)
    Plan to be at home all day. After 3 day detox Do a Enema all day until everything comes out clear, atleast 3x a day,if you can bear it. Research Enema if you dont know what it is. No worries if you cant go through with the Enema that many times a day, try again the next day. Drink electrolytes and probotics after Enemas.
    Once everything comes out clear, plan to eat liquid based foods soups,smoothies etc. for 24 hours
    Then start eating better, this is where ur lifestyle for a better weight begins. If you like bread,try spelt,rye,or kumut bread and grains. If you like sweets try figs,agave syrup,date sugar, if you like potatoes try butternut squash fries (youtube) a video on recipe. On some crash diets you CAN lose some water-weight, but you might also not be getting key nutrients. If your body goes into starvation-mode, you'll also be slowing down your metabolism. When you DO start eating again, the pounds will come right back on again...and sometimes even more.

    The only safe and proven way to lose weight is to change your lifestyle and eating habits, and this is unfortunately a hard, rather slow process on many different levels. The best diets from a scientific standpoint seem to be low-carb (NOT completely no-carb) in which you avoid white pasta, rice, bread products, potatoes, (simple carbs) and sugar and instead try to eat mostly vegetables, fruit (not fruit juice), and some whole-grain products, dairy and lean meat. Some people feel full with more fruits and vegetables; others need a little more meat or dairy to keep blood sugar levels stable. At the same time (and I know a lot of people might disagree with this.) I think you really DO need to control your portion sizes of meat and dairy... no 20 oz. steaks. Most people aren't going to get fat eating green beans and spinach salads; you'd get full too quickly. Meats, dairy, and fats/oils (in lots of salad dressings and fried foods) have LOTS of calories in a very compact form, though. That is why we have fast food "meals" that contain more calories than some people need to eat in an entire day.

    On the plus side, with some smart shopping and reusing left-overs, eating like this can be relatively affordable....or more affordable than $7 or more for a single fast-food meal. You can have "Grandma" style meals with 2 vegetables (there are about 3.5 1/2 cup servings per can) , a modest (4-6 oz) serving of baked/boiled/grilled/broiled meat, a cup of milk to drink, and maybe a whole grain roll and some fruit for dessert; OR you can be a little more creative: a whole grain pita with lean ham or turkey and filled with raw veggies. It's not easy to change fast-food (it tastes so good!) or huge-portion eating habits, but with 30 minutes of walking a day, you can loose weight in a healthy way.
