Democrats and Feminazis then told women that they don't need men, black mothers were given govt money for having babies out of wedlock, given govt housing - and what is the result??

Multigenerational poverty, epidemic single parenthood, violent drug infested neighborhoods, and over 75% of black babies are born out of wedlock.

They DO NOT WANT people relying on themselves, and want to increase govt dependence.

  • When is the movie/tv show better than the book?

I try to read the books that have been adapted for movies/tv shows. Usually (in my opinion) the book is better than the screen adaptation. I'm looking for scenarios where the book isn't as good.

Best answer: AGREED -- great question. Why does anything.. anything at all exist? Why not purely and utterly - NOTHING!
This is probably better in the Philosophy section.
I think most PRESUME some sorta ordered Universe (including a multiverse) exists and then proceeds from there.
This is no doubt what Cosmologists and Pysicists mean when they say "nothing" -- they actually just mean a Universe that already exists but is in a very low state of energy and entropy.

But when the Philosopher asks "Why something rather than nothing" -- they mean truly nothing -- No laws, no matter, no order, no energy, no multiverse, no dimensions - not any one thing.

And this is perhaps the most profound question mankind CAN ask. Sadly, many people scuff at this, throw up their hands and say "How can we know!"

We also can not simply assert that the Universe "always existed" because this question asks "Why?"

I would end with saying that we should continue to wrestle with this question but as long as we deposit physical explanations, those explanations will need further explanation as to why THEY exist.
What is needed to end the causal loop is a metaphysical source -- A non-physical source that because it is not physical, doesn't need further explanation.

Towns and cities here are literal islands of civilization in a vast sea of primal wilderness.

So to my way of being and living, who the hell needs roads? I certainly don't.

If the road's rough, I blaze my own trail.
If the road's nonexistent, I'll hike, ATV, snowmobile, canoe, dogsled or snowshoe my way where I want to go.
Or charter a float plane or ski plane to land me on the closet lake and make my own way from there.

I've had the same attitude in my personal life and career.
Because there's no such thing as a road that can keep anyone from their desired destination.
Not in a world where anyone can make their own if only they have the will, courage and perseverance.

Best answer: Because people are selfish by nature. Because people want what's better than the next person by nature. Because people seek novelty and enjoy having a choice by nature. Because many (not all) people are more driven to develop great products and services for personal financial gain as opposed to considering their input in society. Because by nature societies build from competitiveness (although this is open to debate) and because it can stall the world from progressing due to the sense of entitlement communism can cause (although this is also open to debate)
