  • Tips for a job interview as a teen?

Best answer: Good luck. Dress casually but not shorts, jeans, t-shirt or flip flops - nice pants and a collared shirt are fine. They'll expect you to b nervous and will try to put you at ease. Be ready for "why do you want to work here" and "tell me a little about yourself".

I recently had to do work experience for a week (everyone in my school had to). It's not something that is usually paid and it's generally accepted that they are doing something for you by organising work experience rather than you helping them. At the end of this week, my "employer" gave me an envelope with some money in as a way of saying thank you for helping out. I kind of said you shouldn't have and you didn't need to and that sort of thing but he said that I'd done work for him and I'd done it well so he'd pay me like he would anyone else. After this i accepted thinking it would probably just be 10 or 15 pounds and a little card. I didnt realise until i got home that he gave me £100. I want to return it as i don't feel like i can accept it but i don't know how/what to say. I was going to send him a card saying thank you and with an explanation and the money in. Any advice? Do you think this would be rude?

  • Can an employer force you to take a holiday?

My job is kinda the only thing keeping me happy and tbh I'm kinda depressed, work is the only place I can set aside my problems and replace it with my daily objectives. They say I need to take a week off but i dunno if I can handle that, 4 days drove me utterly insane.

If I were to accept the $27,500.00 a year, I would be taking a huge cut in pay working the same amount of hours. I love doing the work I do. When I’m at work, I am constantly working. I don’t mind this at all. As hard as it is for me to complain, because I am a really appreciative person, I just can’t see myself taking a cut like this. I hope you understand. And I hope I didn’t upset you. I promise to not let you down. I am A very loyal employee. And love what I do. If you would like, I could break down to you all my duties. Taking a salary, I wouldn’t just only work 40hrs. I would still require to work 45 hours a week atleast if not more. My intensions, are to not get you upset at all, just wanted to give you my opinion of why I didn’t agree. ..... What do you guys think. I didn t want to take a pay cut. It now I m scared to lose my job. This I approach this correctly. Can I get fired for this. Is this a big possibility? I didnt ask for more than what I was making now. I just said that the offer would be less than what I m making now. I replied again and asked if he may have had time to reply to me on this issue and is only response was I have not. It will when I do. Thanks in advance.

  • Y’all I hate gettin up for work I hate my job .so much . Any suggestions on how to get out of bed or to love the job I hate?

When I skipped breakfast, things seemed worse than they were. Second is to see if the other areas of your life are happy. That can spill over, too. ... show more

Second is to see if the other areas of your life are happy. That can spill over, too. Personally, when I had a girlfriend, everything in life just glowed, including going to work.

And of course, you might want to look for another job, in case it's the job, itself. Once in my life, pretty much everything was good, but I tried telemarketing. In that case, it was the job. It was basically doing something that people don't want. But make sure you have another job lined up before you quit your present one. Still gotta pay the bills.

Best answer: It's cheaper for them to keep you on the rolls and not use you than to fire you and risk that you'll apply for unemployment. They'll probably keep this up until you just quit.

Getting an interview isn't guaranteed. For the mean time, I am in need of a new job. My current job has very inconsistent hours and I can't make ends meet. I found a job that is $12/hr full-time (better hours and slightly better pay) and close to where I live, but they want applicants to commit to working there long term. I CAN commit to that right now, but I can't say that I wouldn't leave if a significantly higher paying job came a long (who wouldn't?). I am probably over thinking this, but i'd feel bad saying I could commit to something and then jumping ship later. Should I apply anyways?
