Hi all. Last Sunday I copped a knee right in between my ribs directly into my stomach. This happened mid air while playing football and when I hit the ground I went out cold. When I woke the only pain I complained of was in my ribs, however when I went to hospital the only area they were interested in checking were my internals, thus discovering I had tears in my liver, stomach and pancreas which took all of the attention away from my ribs. All though I’m still in pain due to my tears, the only place still properly sore to tough is a certain spot on my right rib cage. I’m experiencing shortness of breath, pain whilst breathing and the area is tender. All though I know the rib is not cracked or broken, is it possible there’s a minor fracture? Cheers

  • How to get rid of a knot on head fast?

Best answer: You can't get rid of it this fast. Ice it and keep your head elevated. Also, the gravity will drain the bump down. If it's on your eye brow it will give you a nasty black eye

  • I can't bend my knee?

I can put my entire weight on it, but I can't lift my foot off the ground without having to put it back down instantly. And if I manage to get it bent, I can sit like that for a while, but if I try to straighten it again, it will instantly start to hurt. It's on the outside edge right below my knee cap. I think it might be a muscle problem, because I can bend it, just not on my own. It seems a bit swollen compared to the other one, and the part where the pain starts is affected by pressure as well. Any ideas what's wrong with it?

  • Should I go see a Dr?

Best answer: It sounds like a mild sprain, and will likely go away on it's own. If the pain persists past another week or so, then you might want to consider making an appointment to see a Dr.

  • Normal? Or should I rush her back to the ER?

My daughter fractured her fibula bone last week. I took her to the ER and they put a splint on her until she can get a cast. Her leg now has a horrible bruise and has swollen up and turned purple, almost blue. Is this normal?

PREFACE (i'm not asking for your opinion on the anger of my daughter as she has a panic attack disorder and she goes into angry panic attacks and blacks out and doesn't remember doing anything. finals have been causing her extreme stress causing these attacks to happen at least 2 times a day) her middle finger knuckle is extremely swollen and she describes it as feeling sore and being more painful when extending her and and clenching her fist but all her fingers are mobile. she has also complained about the wrist on that hand once saying it felt like when she sprained her ankle but it went away after 5 or so hours. we are taking her to urgent care tomorrow but i'm wondering if its worth it or not to take her in. can blunt force over time cause a bone to break or could it just be small fractures?

  • Is it bad to cut the top of your arm?

This is for a health protect at school, don't worry I'm not cutting. If I were to cut the top of my arm, would that be dangerous? Like instead of the wrist, you cut the top of your arm. How bad is it? Are there any major veins/ arteries on the top?

  • How would they treat a gun shot wound to the head at the hospital?

Best answer: Sometime the bullet can't be removed and as a result survivor end up living with the bullet but covered up. The brain is a very delicate and complex area.

So I was playing in a basketball game and this out of control player completely knocked me down. The lower part of my head (closer to my neck) hit the ground. I quickly stood up and for that brief moment, I was dizzy. I imediently went to the bench where I kind of gathered myself for a minute or two. There was not a trainer on site to check me out. My vision was normal and I understood what was going on. I stood up, walked around a little bit to find I was not dizzy anymore. I even jogged a little bit and physically felt just fine. I went back in the game and played the rest of the time. The game just finished and my head is ok. It feels uncomfortable at the back of my head (where it hit the floor) but not anywhere else. I’m not confused and my vision is normal. I’m just worried that I have a concussion. I’ve read one thing online that says symptoms can occur many hours later so I’m trying to continually make sure I’m ok... Do you think I have a concussion? I’ll provide more details if you need it, just comment below...
