For example, my boss tells the men to cut their hair when it is at a certain length, and to shave, even the little stubble that is barely noticeable. I brought up the fact that the handbook says "no fad cuts or styles". Fad: "an intense and widely shared enthusiasm for something, especially one that is short-lived and without basis in the object's qualities; a craze". I told them that this is the definition of a fad, and they agreed with it, as if I needed agreement. I asked them why they can hold the men accountable but not the women. After telling them, "do you think someone higher than you would agree with that?" Then they told me, "We called corporate and they said we could." I then continued, "I wasn't referring to corporate when I said someone higher than you..." They said, "who were you referring to?" They didn't need to ask, they already know. They just wanted to hear what I had to say. It makes me angry when they discriminate on gender in retail.

My work place consistently blocks fire exits. I've reported it to the managers on more than one occasion, and they seem to not care, because it still goes on. I'm sure this is a violation. For the second offense, yesterday, which was Wednesday, December 6th, I noticed that the Seafood department was storing sushi ginger with some pretty powerful chemicals including Foam San and Bleach. Are these health code violations that would win me a case?

I always tell them that I am umcomfortable with it but they do it even more when I tell them how I feel. Some of the Hispanic guys do it too, and it's not just the guys that are doing it. The other night I was fed up with all of this harassment at work and approached my boss on the issue. All she could say was, "maybe they are comfortable with it." The store has a no profanity policy. Can they have a no profanity policy, yet, allow the black folk to use that disgusting, pitiful word, when they enforce the policy elsewhere?

Hi guys. My work place routinely discriminates against men and women in many ways. First, I've been told that a man has to tuck in his shirt but a woman doesn't have to. Second, they always make the men shave "because beards make us look dirty." They claim that their beard policy is also because they want us "groomed", and, that most woman don't like facial hair so we have to shave because of a woman's perspective, just because the "majority" of our shoppers are women. I've been harassed by management because of my facial hair. Two years ago a manager called me a "billy-goat", and management laughs at me because I want to grow my beard. They allow facial hair in some districts but not all and I do not agree with that policy. I overheard someone complaining about a man swearing and yelling at this female employee. I heard our team leader tell this person that she has rights and she could've dealt with the situation herself, but if it were me, they would fire me or cut my hours. Anyone been in a similar situation?

Earlier in the night I was walking from McDonalds to my apartment, and there was also a couple of police cars with flashing lights on... I live in a city where several terrorist threats have been "successfully" executed. Could the police cars and sheriff vehicle be because the city has demanded extra security at night time? I've never seen this amount of police in my complex before this month. I know this is an extremely vague question, but what could some of the reasons be as to why they are patrolling and stopping at specific locations for such a long period of time? P.S. I saw a computer open in one of the police cars, and saw one guy checking out a car... But not doing anything else. They are still here and it is now 2:20AM.

1 Corinthians 11New International Version (NIV) 11 1 Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ. On Covering the Head in Worship 2 I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the traditions just as I passed them on to you. 3 But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man,[a] and the head of Christ is God. 4 Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. 5 But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head—it is the same as having her head shaved. 6 For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head. Religion and work. They simply do not mix, am I right? The men at my job are required to shave, even to the last bit of stubble. They harass us if we come in with stubble and call us names. One time my boss called me a Billy-Goat because I forgot to shave, or chose not to, because it is extremely painful for me to shave. (I should not need to give them a reason for not wanting to shave in the first place, it's really none of their business.) (Since there is a text limit, look to the comments for the continuation of this.

They only prepared me to live with my parents for the rest of my life. My school system sucked... I understand I was in special education, but they didn't have to hold me back from algebra and other important courses I needed to take for college. I only took pre-algebra in 10th grade and that was that. How am I supposed to remember that just taking it once? My anger stems from the difficulty I am having in algebra in college and I've been quite angry at my high school and the special education system for a while now. Is there anything I can do?

I will clear my throat out and a long strand of hair comes out quite frequently (atleast once a week.) It is not a good feeling either... It's quite gross. When I was about 16 I felt my head and noticed a bump. I picked at it and the bump was black (the width of a dime.) A few years later my mom found the same thing on my back... I've been concerned for a while but am worried that it is serious... I am also worried that I'd be getting a catscan for nothing... Just to get no results... What is wrong with my body? Any ideas?

For instance, she always tells me to call her maam because she is a maam. I am a man, can she really expect me to call her maam because she is a maam? I complained to my head boss about how she talks to me and she agrees that I have to call her maam if she wants me to. The three of us had a meeting because I accused her of discrimination and she brought up the fact that she grew up in a family that expected her to say sir and maam and expects us to because she was punished if she didn't call her parents sir or maam. Can my boss really make me call her maam because she is a maam? My head boss always tells me that I can't move up because I am shy. However, there is this girl at work who is extremely shy and can't even keep eye contact with customers but they let her move up. I want to be a cashier but they tell me I am too shy for the job... A cashier is a promotion from a bagger where I work. Can they promote a girl who is shy over a guy who is shy? Is this even legal? My boss always tells me that I am over thinking everything and it needs to stop. I think that she is trying to make me change the way I think about the company. Can she do that? I'm hust sick of the discrimination... Am I right to think I am being discriminated against?
