• Bark missing on California fruit trees?

While passing all of the fruit trees I noticed that the majority of them had the bark about 1-2 feet from the ground on up missing. The only bark visible in passing was on the bottom foot or two. I have a 2 part question that I need answered. Unfortunately, I need someone knowledgeable on both UK and US law. Me & my fiance want to get married. We are having issues because he was supposed to return here (to the US) last week but was turned away because of a previous (short) overstay. They told him he needed to go home and apply for a visa. I know it is against the rules to get married in UK and then apply for citizenship while on a visitors visa. But will they allow you to get married so that we can apply for citizenship for him in the US? So what we want is to get married in UK while I am on a visitor's visa, while I am over there apply for citizenship for him to the US. Is this feasible and allowed? I am more concerned with being able to get married in the UK, since I have read many places that you can't get married while on a visitor's visa.

My questions is, if we go to the UK, I know they often require a round trip ticket, but what if I plan to travel into France after leaving the UK and then flying out from either there or going on to Germany? Can I leave that open if they know I am going to another European country and not flying out of the UK? We do not know exactly how long we will stay in France, so I don't want to book that ticket back yet.

I have a few questions about the best way to go about this. He wants me to just get on a plane and come over like a visitor. Ok, fine, but is the UK really strict when you show up? Do they require a return ticket or proof that you are leaving the country? What happens if I was there on a visitor visa and we got married and applied for a marriage visa? 2. If I applied for a fiancee visa, how long does it take on avergae? I have been trying to find cost information, but am having difficulties finding it. I know it says you have to have sufficient money to support yourself (or he has to) during the time. What is considered sufficient? Is there any way to find out?

Has anybody been through this? What is the process? I am a US citizen, he is from the UK. Is there a vague estimate as far as lawyer and paperwork types of fees?

  • How long does it take the government to realize you overstayed on the VWP?

Person I know (from UK) overstayed by about a month. Coming back (or going to try) next week. Been gone about a week already, so will be gone 2 weeks total by the time she comes back. Will they have already processed the I94 she turned in when she left? I am just wondering if they will let her back in without a visa.

  • What do you need for a UK Fiancee Visa?

It says that you need to be able to provide proof that you can live there without working or requiring public funding. What kind of requirements are there? What kind of money do you have to have built up in order to qualify under that? Any idea?!

I kissed him, but only for a second. He didn't seem like he wanted to kiss, and I am hoping the following is not the reason why. Well while talking to him today I mention something about why he did not want to go further. He admits to me he has herpes (okay he didn't specify it was herpes, but I guess I just assume)...and doesn't want to pass it on to anybody. The last about 3 days my gums have been really sore, and bleeding a bit. Very sensitive. It is more like they feel like they have been burned...like when you eat pizza right out of the oven. So I go reading up on herpes and read that gum pain is one of the first symptoms or oral herpes. Does the gum pain I am describing sound like it could be herpes? I don't have any sores or anything. He didn't say he hasoral herpes, just genital, but not sure.

I don't see him all that often due to him being busy with school (finals start this week) and my lack of being able to go out. When he does come over we usually cuddle and talk for a little while, sometimes watch a movie, then have sex lol. He usually stays for a short while afterwards but since he has school and I have work he has only stayed over once...the first night. I have asked him if he is looking for a relationship and he tells me he doesn't want to get serious too quickly. I completely understand that, but does this sound like just sex (which I am ok with now, but want some potential)..?

  • How do you know if it is depression?

I have been feeling extremely sad the last week or two (possibly longer, I haven't really kept track). I don't know if it is because of circumstances or if I truly am depressed. At this point it feels pretty severe. I have been crying for about 3 hours tonight, and can't seem to stop. I have never cried for this long.
