Heart Transplant Donor (after a re-write)
By Warren Domke
I’m donating my heart to you,
But I don’t think you’re sick.
It’s been a good heart for me,
When I could make it tick.
It’s kind of messy, needs a little ice.
But hook it up and it’ll work real nice.
What about me?
Oh, I don’t know.
I guess Doctor Jarvik
Will help me go with the flow.
You’ve already stolen it from me
It’s mine no more.
I don’t need CPR
Just leave me down here on the floor.
I posted this poem about three years ago. It was intended to be funny and romantic at the same time. I needed a laugh and it sort of tickled me to write it and later to read it. I think we all need to lighten up a little. What do you think? Thanks, LC. I have the link and will check it out. I enjoy the adventures of Juice and Lucy. I look forward to seeing more about them.
My command? That's dangerous, m'love.
