this happened to me two years ago when i was to leave for abroad. i was carrying my original UAE visa and other supporting documents from my sponsor. but the immigration officer was asking for more, specifically any documents that will prove that my sponsor was really my cousin. not knowing what to do, i approached a guard and told him what happened. he referred me to some ladies, and a guy, that were in the area where they weight the hand-carried bags. telling them what happened, they told me that i can pass the immigration without any questions asked by giving them 4,000 philippine peso. making a bargain with them didn't work. feeling desperate, and pressured that i might miss my flight, i gave in. they gave me a plane ticket envelope where i should put the cash, and at the same time told me that i must do this in the restroom. to say the least, i was instructed to line to an immigration officer that they assigned. they were right, no questions asked, my passport was stamped and i was let go.
