How many kids can do long division without a calculator? Is our future generation becoming totally dependent on technology? How long was it since you last played solitaire with real cards? Is this just the crab mentality of some quarters who feel the need to throw mud on the achievements of a great Filipino boxer? Is this just showbiz publicity to generate interest for his upcoming movie “Wapakman?” Or is this an orchestrated political gimmick to get mainstream media to kick start his political campaign for a congressional seat? What do you think?

this happened to me two years ago when i was to leave for abroad. i was carrying my original UAE visa and other supporting documents from my sponsor. but the immigration officer was asking for more, specifically any documents that will prove that my sponsor was really my cousin. not knowing what to do, i approached a guard and told him what happened. he referred me to some ladies, and a guy, that were in the area where they weight the hand-carried bags. telling them what happened, they told me that i can pass the immigration without any questions asked by giving them 4,000 philippine peso. making a bargain with them didn't work. feeling desperate, and pressured that i might miss my flight, i gave in. they gave me a plane ticket envelope where i should put the cash, and at the same time told me that i must do this in the restroom. to say the least, i was instructed to line to an immigration officer that they assigned. they were right, no questions asked, my passport was stamped and i was let go.

Specially the younger generation---these people cannot hold a proper conversation in English. And it's soooooooooo difficult to understand them too because they are trying soooooo hard to cover up their mispronunciations with KAARTEHAN. Now, I don't mind a thick Filipino accent, but I do mind talking to those who can't verbally construct a proper english sentence without peppering it with KAARTEHAN. As an example, one afternoon I was sooooooo bored that I ended up turning on the telly and watching this bakya program. The host was some 20-something bebot and she was doing a show on zoo animals, thus the show was at the zoo, with animals, in the wild as it were (that's the wildest you'll ever get in the Philippines---at the zoo!). At any rate, the bebot host had to pet a snake and she just freaked out, screaming 'Umagud! Umagud! Umagud!' like as if she's cute. And here I was going WTF is Umagud Umagud Umagud. Then it dawned on me, she was actually saying OH MY GOD. You can just imagine how I Lulzed when I realized it. So can you just see how pathetic it is to have to listen to some baduy native trying hard to be valley? Like ZOMG! There's nothing worse than a native acting all FOBBISH when he/she hasn't even gotten off the effing islands yet. Lulz. Kizzez!
