  • Why oh Why Australia CHEATS at Cricket?

Well, like Martin Crowe and Chris Pringle of New Zealand, Mike Atherton and Stuart Broad of England, Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid of India, Shahid Afridi of Pakistan and Faf Du Plessis and Vernon Philander of South Africa in the past, clearly the pressure to win made these players make a serious error in judgement. Unlike all those incidents however, where the country authorities decided to ignore the problem, or help the player create a ridiculous excuse, Cricket Australia decided to act decisively to protect the integrity of the game.

  • Australian Sporting Culture has lost its Respect and integrity? What s your say?

I would say quite the opposite. When New Zealand took to the ball with bottle tops nobody took any action. When Mike Atherton used dirt to damage the ball, England ignored the problem. When Sachin Tendulkar was caught damaging the ball, the Indian authorities helped him with his ridiculous excuse. When Du Plessis and other South Africans were repeatedly caught damaging the ball South Africa ignored it. When Bancroft gets caught, Australia take decisive action against him and the team's leadership - yes the behaviour of the players involved was terrible, but unlike all those other incidents the Australian authorities decided to act on it and hold their players accountable.

Of course they don't SAY it - admitting it would make it harder for them to keep doing it.

Every day a fraction of the US national debt is paid off - and every day a small amount of new debt is being issued. Generally of late the latter is larger than the former. The debt is issued by the government. It is not possible for a demand of payment of US debt be issued to anyone except treasury (ie someone holding a treasury bond cannot collect that debt from individual US citizens). But of course - it is we the citizens who contribute most of the US government's revenue - so it will be mostly us paying for it.

  • Why do liberals hate Reagan when even Obama said he’s one of his favorite presidents?

I don't hate him - certainly not his being open to sensible gun restrictions, environmental protection and of course actually being a statesman rather than a bully like modern conservatives. He certainly had his problems - selling weapons to our enemies in order to fund murdering rape squads in central America for instance, and setting us on the... show more

He certainly had his problems - selling weapons to our enemies in order to fund murdering rape squads in central America for instance, and setting us on the current path of fiscal recklessness wasn't exactly great either. I wonder more why modern conservatives hate Reagan so much they have to invent the fictional Reagan to worship.
