What to do when cat has been missing for several hours?

my indoor/outdoor neautured sweet male brown tabby has been missing for hours..he does like to go outisde but he's never stayed out this long...and even if he did he always responds when I call his name,liek he moves something and his bell tinkles or he comes running or something..and i'm getting seriously worried.should i just wait,or start looking for him,or what?Please help I'm getting really stressed.

Perhaps your neutered male tabby is just enjoying the spring weather. Wait til morning and start
looking during daylight (it is currently 10pm where I live).
A really good idea to attract him back to your place: sprinkle some of his used cat litter around your door entrances, so he will recognize his own scent...and return!
A close friend did this and his cat returned. It was genius in my opinion; I would not have thought
to do that.

    wait a little longer cats usually come back but if he doesnt show up in a few more hours you might want to go look
