My dog just pooped some blood and some worms...?
Our dog was "sick" (diaherra) on Sunday, took him to the Vet on Monday and she stuck him up his butt to get a poop sample, they looked at it and saw that it was a bacteria in it (but nothing too serious) so she gave us some amoxicillin and told us to feed him rice and beef or rice and chicken, so we did that monday afternoon, (at this point he hadnt pooped since sunday night, but hadnt eaten anything either) so he ate his dinner last night and was begging for more...Went to sleep, woke up today and gave him his breakfast and he finally pooped, but it was bloody and has worms (but not diaherra, it was normal)...So we take him back to the vet, or could the blood be from irritation from the previous vet visit?? Looking at him and playing with him, there is nothing abnormal, he has energy, he has his appetite...But still, should I be concerned??
Also, he is a little over 3 months old and has been "de-wormed"...so why are worms still coming out?? =(
Thank you all for the answers!! I have more details now...(My fiance actually saw all of this occur, I was already at work this morning) It was initially dark when he pooped as it got lighter outside she went to look at it again, she said the blood was a tiny bit on the tip of the poop, a little bit bigger than a ballpoint pen ink stain (small) She also said that theyre were 4 worms and they were tiny (so I dont know, they could have been rice, I hadnt even thought about it)
We took him to the vet last week for a regular checkup and she gave him a de worming then...But this is the first batch of worms we had seen in 2 or 3 weeks (I dont know if that is good or bad, but just saying)
