Command strips ripping off paint?

Question

I got some those 3M hooks for my dorm but they are the knockoff brand and really cheap. They don't have the part that you pull down to remove so all I could do was pull from the hook and it ripped off the paint. Is there a way to remove the others without ripping off the wall?

The best thing to try is getting some tea tree oil around it, keep soaking it on it if it starts to come up. It is wonderful at removing stickers from walls and surfaces.

If it does take the paint off then take a clean sample of the paint and take it down to your local hardware shop, buy a cheap paint brush and get them to colour match the paint, buy the smallest cheapest tin you can and paint over it and around it.

Worse case if the oil doesn't work you will have to spend $20 on some paint and brush.
