I'm a painter myself and I would like to see someone incorporate melted crayon wax into a painting. You can marble it, blend colors and possibly create portrait or landscape.
For a photo, I think it would be cool to get a shot with an underwater camera of a child in the air about to do a cannon ball. The shot should be taken from just under the surface and just under the jumper.
There are books filled with this kind of information. That's your best bet because they will expose you to a wide variety of ideas and techniques. You will find them under Art Instruction at your bookstores or free for checkout at your public library.
