How do TOUCH lamps work?

The ones you touch and they'll light up. I'm just curious as to how they work. They won't work if you're wearing gloves. :D

in a nutshell, since all bodies carry some electrical charge of their own, they finish the connection that flipping a switch would. this explains it so much better, but last time cited something from another website, they were mad because i didn't use professional notifications on the excerpts i used, so i just won't go there. click the link for more info!
