Buying a used Xbox 360 on Ebay?

Hi, So I am trying to buy a new 360 on Ebay and I see one for cheap that says it won't play discs but everything else works just fine. That's ok because I have an old system where I can just swap disc drives and it should be good to go. But It also say it probably needs to be reflashed.

I don't know what that means. I looked up Flashed and that means modded is what I read. I don't want it if I will be banned from playing Xbox Live. But again maybe it doesn't mean that at all I do not know. So if anyone can tell me what I would be getting and if I could just swap disc drives and be able to play just fine I would appreciate it.

Additional Details

I'm sorry I forgot to link it.
