How to write a sentence if my character is speaking, but out of breath?

im writing a book and im stuck on a part.

my character is out of breath and someone asks if their ok and he responds but is talking in short intervals.

how do i write like that?

is it like :"Yeah...Im ok...just...out of breath"

I would write it just like that, that is definitely one way you could do it. You could also have actions in between the words, ex:

"Yeah... I'm okay," He wiped the sweat off his forehead, "Just ....out of breath."

Also you could use words like, panted or even breathed. (ex: ,she panted)

    That actually does work just the way you used it now. You could also put something like
    "Yeah, im.. okay" i pause "just out of...breath."
    there really is many ways that you can put it. (:
