Does alcohol affect transgenders?

Question

what is the effect of alcohol on the hormones, does it affect ppl that hve been recieving treatment for several like intoxications? Can we drink like any other person and get drunk or cant drink at all? Ty

We can drink like other people.

However, if you are a transsexual woman you need to be careful because your tolerance for alcohol goes down on hormones. That means your body's ability to process it is less efficient and as a result you get tipsy faster.

When I first started HRT, I noticed a definite effect on my drinking; I became an incredibly cheap date and could get loopy on one glass of wine. Now that my hormones are stable, I drink less than I did before, but my tolerance for alcohol is pretty much back to what it was; perhaps slightly lower, but not excessively so.

As with everything Trans*, Your Mileage May Vary. You'll have to experiment to see how it effects you.
