Getting my parents to think ball pythons are not evil (difficult) :(?

I asked my parents for a ball python and the first reaction from my dad was "It is up to your mom. If she does not want it then you are not allowed to get it". When I asked my mom if I could get one, she said that snakes are a representation of the devil and she does not want the devil in her house. She also thinks they are evil creatures that kill and eat everything they see.

DO NOT BE ONE OF THOSE IDIOTS WHO SAY THAT MY MOM IS AN IDIOT!

Try to wear her down. Leave out articles about ball pythons as pets. Whine. Find or make a friend who has a pet snake, and try to get her to see/touch/handle your friend's snake. Find videos of those groups that do snake-handling in church (hey, can't hurt, right?). Whine some more. Beg. Complain. Come up with evidence that her allegedly rational arguments (hey, I wouldn't want a pet that would kill and eat everything it sees) with contrary evidence. Show her a picture (with scale) of a mature ball python, she may be thinking python=huge...

Good luck!

Asker's Comment:
She does think pythons are huge! That is why she doesn't want it! That is a good idea except I might need to go to the pet store to get her to touch it. None of my friends have snake pets because they were never interested.

People's fears are to ingrained too change usually. If She feels that strong you probably will never change her much. She probably learned the fear from her parents. Many people think they are doing their children a favor by instilling fear of snakes in their children. There is a lot of ignorance when it comes to snakes and many other animals too.
It is hard to convince most people of the benefits of snakes. Imagine living in a world with rats and mice everywhere. That's pretty much what we would have if there wasn't.t any snakes around.
