Christians: A question that live in the bible belt/Southern States?

Have you ever pondered why you're constantly get slammed by hurricanes and tornadoes, while in San Francisco nothing really happens? (Which has a lot of gay people)

Don't you think god is trying to tell you something?

Additional Details

That's why your homes with wheels get thrown into the sky.

I've been to SF, I love the rain/weather there. I can't stand the humidity though.

Humidity meaning in the South.

What does this have to do with liberalism and conservationism? I said gay people, you know, the people that your god hates and supposedly destroyed two cities in biblical times.

Sorry conservatism.

"earthquake of 1906"

Homosexuality wasn't openly accepted around that time. Again I think god is trying to tell you people in the bible belt something.

There is a similar pattern elsewhere. In the whole of recorded history there have been less than 5 people killed by earthquakes in England. (The exact number is disputed).

I think God is rewarding us for our growing atheism.

And why are there no Earthquakes near the South Pole? Is it because there only inhabitants are scientists?

Please don't allow yourself to get a generalized idea of christians being gay-hating homophobes. While I may not agree with their lifestyles it is not my place to do condemn. As a christian it is only my job to accept them(although I still do not agree with their lifestyle) and therefore hopefully let the love of God show through me.

Well what about the brush fires and earth quakes that happen in California. The Tsunamis that happen around the world. The ice storms and tornadoes that happen in middle America? The Hurricanes? The horrible things that happen to the people that aren't of the Christian beliefs? We are all victims of living in an imperfect world. Everyone and anyone can be subjectable to NATURAL disasters.

And let me say that NOTHING bad comes from God. (James 1:17) So it's not as he's up in heaven planning what horrible things he can do. Satan the Devil is the originator of all things wicked. (John 8:44 and Revelations 12:9).

Sure, the god of this system of things is protecting his own.

(2 Corinthians 4:3, 4) 3 If, now, the good news we declare is in fact veiled, it is veiled among those who are perishing, 4 among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through.

    2 Corinthians 4:4
    King James Version (KJV)
4In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

" ...prove yourselves sons of YOUR Father who is in the heavens, since he makes his sun rise upon wicked people and good and makes it rain upon righteous people and unrighteous." - Matthew 5:45

Natural Disasters don't check to make sure whether or not you are Christian. Hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, floods, etc... are going to occur where Christians live and also where those that are not Christians live.

We are all affected by time and unpredictable events (Ecclesiastes 9:11).

As far as people like Pat Robertson saying that people are suffering from a natural disaster due to their way of life have no basis for those claims. The modern day judgement that the bible speaks of is Armageddon and that is a global event that hasn't happened yet (it is not something like a flood, hurricane, or earthquake occurring in a specific geographical region). Any claims about God judging people using natural forces or other power in our time outside of the global war of Armageddon has no basis in scripture.

I've been in the South (Arkansas) for about 17 years.

    - no tornadoes in that time
    - no hurricanes (never hurricanes in Arkansas anyway)
    - in history, nothing as devastating in the city where I live as was the San Francisco earthquake of 1906 - and SF continues to be frequently subjected to damaging earthquakes (while my location is not)

Conclusion: following your reasoning, God has a much bigger beef with SF than he does with my place of residence.

Point: some places in the "Bible Belt" have an unusually large population of homosexuals as well. SF isn't the only place.

Did ever occur to you that some of the most liberal area's of the country are in the South ? More specifically New Orleans where Hurricane Katrina caused more destruction than almost any natural disaster ?

Even Texas as conservative a state as it is. All the major metros in Texas are very liberal. The liberals in the metros leach off the oil wealth of that state. I have a guy right on my Facebook account who although I am friends with, is very liberal and always posting things about how great Obama is. This is in the state of Texas we're talking about here.

Consider this also Cora. When God judges a nation he judges the whole nation. And sometimes innocent people suffer as a result.

Now I believe you're implying that God doesn't love gay people, which He does, but He does not like their sin. Now I'm sure He could punish them for their sin, but God loves people enough to send His son to die for EVERYONE not everyone but gay people. So no God is trying to tell them nothing.

Your obviously kidding. It's weather patterns and has nothing to do with God. The earth is very active and it shows in weather. It's men's fault that our weather is so bad. If God was not going to intervene we'd all be blown of of this earth thanks to men's technology.

To say that the entire South is right wing is a bit bias don't you think? There are Liberals who live in the South too mainly in cities because I've been to Birmingham before and it is Liberal central by my definition.
