Why did my iphone die at 19%?

Question

I have an iPhone 4s,-the best phone i've ever owned. I was at 19% yesterday, and it did the little loading symbol and died, just like it would with a dead battery, i tried about 2-3 times to restart it, knowing it was still at 19%, and it kept showing the battery with the little electricity symbol.. which means plug it in. sure enough, i tried one last time, and it started up, it had 17% left. what happened? I am on the current software update. I got the overheat symbol once. but thats it.

This could be the technical issue... Report it to the service to get things fixed....
