What do you think is causing these ailments?
I have noticed a trend: when I return to my Uni accommodation, I get really itchy and my throat gets sore.
I thought it was just fresher's flu in the first term and bad luck in the second term, but within one day of being back for the final term it has happened again.
I have eczema anyway, but when I'm in my room it gets worse and when I wake up in the morning my left tonsil is sore (but not infected) and then this lasts for the rest of the day.
What do you think is causing it? And how do I fix the problem?
The window is almost always open, so I am trying to air the room but I would like to know what is making me itch so.
Thank you!
Additional Details
I do actually have some anti-histamine tablets, but they don't help that much. I do still get mildly itchy and my throat still hurts in the morning.

I'm guessing you're allergic to something in your room!
Given that you're okay at home, try thinking about what the differences are between your room at Uni and your room at home. General cleanliness? Different cleaning products used? Differences in bedding? Laundry powder? A saggy old mattress? An air freshener? Figure it out by a process of elimination.
Generally speaking, someone with eczema will need to stay away from synthetics and harsh chemicals. Natural fabrics (100% cotton sheets, for example) and products are a better way to go. You might also want to think about getting anti-allergen duvet and pillow covers if dust mites are the problem.

- Thanks. I've emailed the appropriate people now and we are looking into what it might be.

Sounds like your allergic to something in your room
Is the washing powder same as at home?
Mattress new?
Does the area have different plants?
Try an antihistamine see if improves, if it does try removing and figure out what it is your allergic to if it doesn't I'd see a doctor?
Good luck

Do they use some cleaning chemical that you are allergic to? If you are there next year, then change accomodation.
